(Rockville, MD-February 1, 2008) The American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation (ASHFoundation) recently awarded a total of $185,000 to 45 individuals in support of groundbreaking research investigations, research travel stipends, doctoral and master’s education, and clinical developments.

These awards were distributed with the goal of providing charitable resources and funding programs to advance and advocate the future of audiology, speech-language pathology, and speech, language, and hearing science. They help ensure excellence in training, support innovative new research, and provide the best possible treatments for the more than 49 million children and adults with a communication disorder.

“We are very pleased that the ASHFoundation is able to provide funding to so many aspiring audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and speech, language, hearing scientists,” ASHFoundation President Dennis Hampton says. “These awards show the strong commitment that the ASHFoundation has to build the future of communications sciences.”
