Daniel R. Boone, PhD, CCC-SLP, 1927-2018

Dan Boone, PhD, CCC-SLP, beloved clinician, mentor, friend, and a life-time member of ArSHA died on October 27. Dr. Boone was Professor Emeritus, The University of Arizona (1988-present), and was a practicing master clinician up until his death. He is well-known for his contributions to the field of speech-language pathology, publishing over 100 professional articles and 18 books. The Voice and Voice Therapy is in its soon-to-be-released 10th edition. His most recent book, Trouble Talking, is a personal narrative that describes communication disorders of 40 of his most memorable patients. During his career, he served as the Vice President and President of ASHA (1976) and received Fellowship and Honors of the Association (1984). Throughout his career, Dr. Boone remained active with ArSHA, serving on committees and presenting often at ArSHA conventions. He was the Key Note on more than one occasion. Dr. Boone was the recipient of the Honors of the Association (1978) and of the Marilyn Quintana Moline Mentorship Award (2003).

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, December 8, 2018, at 10 am to be followed by a lunch reception at Grace Community Church, 9755 North La Cholla Blvd, in Tucson.
