Focus Group: School-Based SLP Experiences During COVID

You are invited to participate in a focus group research study titled “School-Based SLP Experiences During COVID” being conducted by Sandra Stewart, EdD, CCC-SLP, Michelle Thomas, MS, CCC-SLP, and Darrell Dern, MS, CCC-SLP in association with Northern Arizona University.

The purpose of this focus group research is to explore the experience of Arizona school-based SLPs during the pandemic and discuss attitudes toward telepractice and its role in future speech-language services; the facet of service provision you find most concerning at present; whether you have recently struggled with a decision to leave the profession and issues related to the struggle; supports that you found pivotal during this period; and to what extent your feelings about service provision have changed since the start of the pandemic. This 60-90-minute focus group discussion will take place on Saturday, October 29th, 2022, at 1:00 pm AZ time on the NAU Zoom platform. Although there is no direct compensation for participation, it is hoped that results of this study will provide insights which might be used to inform policy regarding the role of teletherapy and resources needed by school based SLPs/SLPAs in the state of Arizona to provide effective services moving forward.
If you are interested in participating, please use the link below to sign up and provide informed consent. We will respond confirming your participation and will send a zoom link at that time.
